Aaron Jackson, DVM, MBA, Diplomate, ACVS-SA is a board-certified small animal Veterinary Surgeon at MedVet Chicago where he also serves as the Medical Director and Surgery Department Head. He has been part of the surgical team since 2010. Dr. Jackson attended the University of Illinois where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree, as well as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1998. Following his graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Jackson completed a yearlong internship in small animal medicine and surgery and a three-year residency in small animal surgery at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. Most recently Dr. Jackson returned to the University of Illinois where he earned a Masters in Business Administration degree.

Since becoming a board-certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2006, Dr. Jackson has become a leader and well-known figure in the Chicago veterinary community. He is the author and co-author of several bodies of written work published in a variety of veterinary publications, including Slatter’s Textbook of Small Animal Surgery. He is an active advocate of continued education for veterinary professionals and has lectured on small animal surgery both nationally and internationally.

Although Dr. Jackson maintains an interest in all aspects of small animal surgery, he has particular interest in airway surgery and advanced orthopedic procedures. When not treating patients, Dr. Jackson enjoys spending time with his three children, reading, and volunteering at his children’s school.
