Ahmira Torres,  DVM, Diplomate, ACVIM (SAIM) is a board-certified Veterinary Internist at MedVet Northern Virginia, where she has been part of the medical team since 2019. Dr. Torres attended the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science degree. She then attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (St. Kitts), where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, with her clinical year spent at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine (Gainesville, FL). Following her graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Torres completed a yearlong rotating internship at Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine (West Lafayette, IN) and her Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. She is a board-certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine.

When not working, she spends her free time with her husband, two children, and very energetic dog named Peeka. She enjoys being outdoors and trying new foods.
