Amanda R. Taylor, DVM, DACVIM (Neurology), CVA, is a Board-certified Veterinary Neurologist and Neurosurgeon at MedVet Columbus where she has been a part of the team since 2021.

Dr. Taylor attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising. She then earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in College Station, TX, graduating summa cum laude. Following earning her veterinary degree, Dr. Taylor completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship at the Colorado State University Teaching Hospital in Fort Collins, CO before returning to the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine where she completed a three-year Neurology & Neurosurgery Residency. Additionally, she is a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA) through the Chi Institute in Ocala, FL. Prior to joining MedVet, Dr. Taylor served as the Medical Director of BluePearl PVSEC North Hills in Pittsburgh, PA.

Dr. Taylor has contributed to many veterinary publications, including topics on stereotactic brain surgery, traumatic injury to the nervous system, and neurosurgery. She has provided continuing education lectures to the veterinary community, in addition to earning numerous honors and awards. She has a special interest in atlantoaxial subluxation, brain cancer, and surgery for intervertebral disc disease. Dr. Taylor’s favorite part of veterinary medicine is making a difference in the lives of pets and their families by providing compassionate care and communication.

When Dr. Taylor is away from the hospital, she enjoys running, yoga, and cooking.
