Charles Brooks, DVM, is a veterinary intern at MedVet New Orleans where he has been a part of the team since 2021.
Dr. Brooks attended Louisiana State University (LSU) in Baton Rouge, LA where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences. He then earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Brooks is Fear Free Certified®.
Dr. Brooks has a special interest in neurology and neurosurgery, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, and fear free anxiety mitigation. He has contributed to a veterinary publication on the topic of characterizing murine models of schizophrenia. Dr. Brooks’ favorite part of veterinary medicine is acting as an advocate and voice for animals.
When away from the hospital, Dr. Brooks enjoys camping, home improvement projects, fishing, and spending Sundays at home watching documentaries with his wife. He is also an avid football fan and cheers on the New Orleans Saints and the LSU Tigers.
