Colin Reich, DVM, Diplomate, ACVECC, is a Board-certified Specialist in Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care at MedVet Silicon Valley. He has been a part of the team since 2021.

Dr. Reich attended the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine where he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Following graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Reich completed a small animal rotating internship in medicine, surgery, and emergency at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine. He then went on to complete a residency in emergency and critical care medicine at Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to joining MedVet Silicon Valley, Dr. Reich was an Assistant Teaching Professor in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Colin Reich has special interests in extracorporeal therapies, including dialysis and therapeutic plasma exchange, mechanical ventilation, sepsis, severe trauma, and shock, but enjoys treating all critically ill animals regardless of the cause. He also enjoys collaborating with other doctors in the hospital and the referring veterinarian community to provide optimal outcomes for patients. He believes that veterinary medicine is best practiced in a team-based approach. Dr. Reich has published and collaborated on several scientific studies in various veterinary journals on topics including shock, toxicology, respiratory, and hepatobiliary disease.

When not caring for patients, Dr. Reich enjoys cycling, snowboarding, and spending time with his wife, their two dogs, and cat.
