Georgia Shriwise, DVM is a veterinarian who is residency trained in Veterinary Surgery. She joined the MedVet Chicago team in September 2019. Dr. Shriwise earned her Bachelor of Science in Zoology followed by her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI. She completed her general small animal rotating internship at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC and her residency at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI.
Dr. Shriwise has authored numerous research articles about chronic pain research, force plate analysis, and chylothorax. She maintains a special interest in these conditions in addition to thoracic surgeries, urogenital surgeries, fracture repair, reconstructive surgeries, and surgical oncology.
Helping to strengthen the bond between an animal and their owner, along with a desire to work with others who strive to offer the best veterinary medicine, were two motivating factors that led her to become a veterinarian. In her free time, Dr. Shriwise plays Ultimate Frisbee and loves to do crosswords, make art, and go hiking and camping with her husband and dog.
