Kathryn J. McConnell, DVM is a rotating intern at WestVet Boise where she has been a member of the team since June 2020. Dr. McConnell attended the University of Nevada, Reno in Reno, NV where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Science. She then earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Fort Collins, CO.
Dr. McConnell has a special interest in working dog medicine and preventative care, emergency medicine, orthopedics, and surgery. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is the influential role she has in the human-animal bond and learning innovative ways to best support her patients.
When away from the hospital, Dr. McConnell enjoys being outdoors whether she is gardening, fishing, swimming, hiking, or backpacking. She has a passion for dog training and behavior, and loves working with her dog, Watson, to teach him new tricks and practical behaviors that allow him to better enjoy the world around him.
