Kayla M. Contreras, DVM, is a veterinary intern at WestVet Boise where she has been a part of the team since 2021.
Dr. Contreras attended the Oregon State University Honors College in Corvallis, OR where she was one of seven students accepted into the Pre-Veterinary Scholars program. Within this program, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology and a minor in Business and Entrepreneurship. She then attended the Oregon State University Carlson College of Veterinary Medicine where she earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Additionally, Dr. Contreras is Fear Free Certified®.
Dr. Contreras has a special interest in small animal internal medicine. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is the opportunity to help animals in need by diagnosing and managing complex medical conditions.
When away from the hospital, Dr. Contreras enjoys playing beach and court volleyball with her husband and hiking with her two dogs, Rambo and Ollie. She also likes to ride horses, snowboard, and spend time with her family and close friends.
