Maddie Guzak, BVMS, MRCVS, is an Emergency Medicine Veterinarian at MedVet Salt Lake City where she has been a part of the team since 2022.
Dr. Guzak attended Utah State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Dairy and Veterinary Science with a Bio-Veterinary emphasis and minors in Biology and Chemistry. She then attended the University of Edinburgh Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies where she earned a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery degree. Dr. Guzak is also a Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. Prior to joining MedVet, she worked as an intern at Willow Park Zoo in Utah and Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado where she managed large exotic animals and researched the nutritional needs of these animals.
Dr. Maddie Guzak has a special interest in emergency medicine and surgery and enjoys how each day is different and provides new challenges. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is being an advocate for animals when they are sick or stressed since they cannot speak for themselves. Dr. Guzak also enjoys seeing the human-animal bond and being able to help people through their pet’s healthcare and wellbeing.
When away from the hospital, Dr. Guzak enjoys being outdoors whether she is hiking or camping. She also enjoys running and training for marathons, baking, and creating pottery.
