Mercedes De Paolo, DVM is a Veterinarian who is residency trained in Veterinary Dentistry & Oral Surgery at MedVet Salt Lake City and MedVet Northern Utah where she has been a part of the team since September 2020. Dr. De Paolo earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Middlebury College in Middlebury, VT. She then went on to obtain her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in Ithaca, NY. Following veterinary school, Dr. De Paolo completed a rotating internship at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA followed by a three year residency in Dentistry & Oral Surgery at the University of California Davis in Davis, CA.
Dr. De Paolo has authored several publications, two of which focus on craniomaxillofacial trauma in dogs. She maintains a special interest in the treatment of maxillofacial injuries, oncologic surgery of the maxillofacial region, periodontal surgery, and endodontics. Her favorite part of veterinary dentistry is alleviating discomfort and returning patients to a healthy, functional occlusion as quickly as possible.
In her free time, Dr. De Paolo enjoys hiking, running, Nordic skiing, and spending time with her husband and cats.
