Nicole Culwell, DVM, MS, Diplomate, ACVIM (Cardiology) is a board-certified Veterinary Cardiologist who joined the MedVet Dallas team in 2011. Dr. Culwell received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1998, followed by her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. After graduating from veterinary school, Dr. Culwell went on to complete a yearlong rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Oklahoma State University, in addition to a three-year residency in veterinary cardiology at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. While performing her residency, Dr. Culwell also completed her Master of Science degree.

Dr. Culwell’s favorite part of being a veterinary cardiologist is having the ability to help prolong her patients’ quality of life and while she maintains an interest in all aspects of veterinary cardiology, she is particularly interested in congenital heart disease, medical management of congestive heart failure, and arrhythmia management, as well as keeping her skills current through attending and presenting continuing education courses.

When she is not busy caring for patients, Dr. Culwell enjoys reading, yoga, cooking, and spending time with her husband and dogs.
