Peter J. Welsh, DVM, is a veterinary intern at WestVet Boise where he has been a part of the team since 2021.
Dr. Welsh attended Brigham Young University in Provo, UT where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Pullman, WA.
Dr. Welsh has contributed to veterinary publications on topics including surface electromyography in dogs, cranial cruciate ligament rupture, and stifle osteoarthritis. He has a special interest in small animal surgery and his favorite part of veterinary medicine is being able to help pet owners better understand treatment options for their pet to live a longer and healthier life.
In his spare time, Dr. Welsh enjoys mountain biking, cross-country skiing with his two Huskies, and spending time with his partner.
