Dr. Mamidi earned a Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry degree from Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University College of Veterinary Science in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India. He then completed the requirements for his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree by completing the Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates (ECFVG) program from AVMA. In addition, he earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Veterinary Science with an emphasis on cardiac muscle physiology from Washington State University in Pullman, WA.
Dr. Mamidi contributed to numerous research publications related to cardiac muscle mechanics, cardiomyopathy, and drugs targeting the cardiac contractile machinery. Additionally, he has a special interest in cardiomyopathies in dogs and cats. Dr. Mamidi’s favorite part of veterinary medicine is the ability to make a difference in the quality of life of pets, which then translates into a positive influence on the overall wellbeing of the pet’s family.
When away from the hospital, Dr. Mamidi enjoys traveling with his wife and daughter. His wife, Dr. Sri, is also a small animal veterinarian. In addition to traveling, he enjoys skiing, playing cricket, watching tennis, and staying updated on current events.
