Ranganath Mamidi, DVM, PhD, is an Emergency Medicine Veterinarian at MedVet Akron where he has been a part of the team since 2021.

Dr. Mamidi earned a Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry degree along with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University College of Veterinary Science in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India. In addition, he earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Veterinary Science with an emphasis on cardiac muscle physiology from Washington State University in Pullman, WA.

Dr. Mamidi contributed to veterinary publications regarding cardiac muscle mechanics, cardiomyopathy, and myosin modulators. Additionally, he has a special interest in cardiomyopathies in dogs and cats. Dr. Mamidi’s favorite part of veterinary medicine is the ability to make a difference in the quality of life of pets, which, consequently, makes a difference in the wellbeing of their families.

When away from the hospital, Dr. Mamidi enjoys traveling, skiing, playing cricket, watching tennis, and staying updated on current events.
