Rona Shapiro, DVM, MS is an Emergency Medicine Veterinarian at MedVet Diley Hill.
Dr. Shapiro attended the University of Maryland in College Park, MD where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. During undergraduate school, she worked as an Assistant Herdsmen at Wilson’s Dairy Farm. While farming and working with the herd veterinarian, she developed a fascination for veterinary medicine. This experience led her to continue her education in animal sciences by performing research and authoring publications regarding cattle immunology. By conducting interdepartmental research for the department of Biochemistry and the department of Dairy Science at the University of Maryland, she earned a Master of Science degree in Dairy Science. She then attended The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Columbus, OH where she earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.
For more than 30 years, the love that Dr. Shapiro has for both animals and the bond between humans and animals continues to drive her to be the best veterinarian she can be.
Prior to joining MedVet, Dr. Shapiro co-owned Diley Hill Animal Emergency Center (now MedVet Diley Hill) in Canal Winchester, OH, Easton Animal Hospital in Columbus, OH, and Groveport Canal Animal Hospital in Groveport, OH.
