Ryan Bookstaff, DVM is an Emergency Medicine Veterinarian at MedVet Chicago where he has been part of the emergency team since 2016. Dr. Bookstaff attended The Ohio State University where he completed his Bachelor of Science in Zoology before completing his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. Following his graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Bookstaff completed a yearlong rotating internship at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
Dr. Bookstaff has a background in research, and has presented collaborative work at the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine Research Forum. Although Dr. Bookstaff maintains an interest in all aspects of small animal emergency medicine, he has particular interest in trauma case management, ocular emergencies, and cardiovascular emergencies. When not treating patients, Dr. Bookstaff is passionate about wildlife conservation, and has completed an internship in wildlife rehabilitation.
