Teresa Monroe-Ghiotto, DVM, is a veterinary intern at MedVet Chicago where she has been a part of the team since 2021.
Dr. Monroe-Ghiotto attended the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, IL where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. She then earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine in True Blue, Grenada, West Indies, completing her fourth year of clinical training at the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in East Lansing, MI.
Prior to joining MedVet as a veterinarian, Dr. Monroe-Ghiotto was a part of the MedVet Chicago team as a certified veterinary technician and service team leader for five years while earning her degrees. During this time, she presented continuing education lectures to the veterinary community on toxicology and intravenous fluid therapy.
Dr. Monroe-Ghiotto has a special interest in emergency medicine, anesthesia, and pain management. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is the opportunity to advocate for animal healthcare and wellbeing so that families can enjoy as much time as possible with their beloved companion.
When not in the hospital, Dr. Monroe-Ghiotto enjoys reading, cooking, exploring Chicago and all the amazing restaurants with her husband, and spending time outdoors with her dogs.
