Thalita Leite, DVM, is a veterinary intern at MedVet Chicago, where she has been a part of the team since 2022.

Dr. Leite completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Sciences from the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. She then earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis, West Indies and North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Raleigh, NC. Before coming to MedVet, Dr. Leite completed an Equine Internship at Claiborne Farm Thoroughbred Farm in Paris, KY.

While Dr. Leite finds many areas of veterinary medicine fascinating, she has particular interest in anesthesia, cardiology, and ophthalmology. She is trilingual and enjoys providing patient care and helping educate pet owners in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. She is excited to be a part of the MedVet Chicago team to expand her skills by working under the mentorship of our skilled emergency medicine and specialty services doctors.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Leite remains active by working out, doing yoga, and horseback riding, and since moving to Chicago, she has enjoyed sightseeing and exploring the city. She is the proud parent to a fun-loving dog, a world-traveling cat, and two tortoises who have been with her since they hatched in the Caribbean.
