Dr. Kelman took a circuitous route to veterinary medicine. He attended the University of Texas at Austin in Austin, TX where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and practiced as an engineer for a decade developing various medical and scientific devices. He then attended the University of California Davis School of Veterinary Medicine where he earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree followed with a Master in Preventative Veterinary Medicine focused in epidemiology of zoonotic infectious disease.
Dr. Kelman has a special interest in emergency medicine and critical care, including anesthesia & analgesia, toxicology, point of care ultrasound in emergent setting, and emergency surgery. His favorite part of veterinary medicine is the opportunity to develop relationships with other MedVet team members, Patients, and their families.
When not in the hospital, Dr. Kelman enjoys hiking and being out in nature.
